Tenant questions

Answered

How do I apply for a TEAM rental?

Inspect the property first, then apply through the link on the listing. Have your ID, proof of income and rental history ready; complete applications are assessed first.

How much is the bond?

Usually up to four weeks' rent. You lodge it directly with the Residential Tenancies Authority (RTA). TEAM does not take bond money, and the RTA holds it for the whole tenancy.

How do I report a repair?

Log it through your PropertyMe tenant portal with photos, or email pm@qteam.com.au. For an emergency during business hours, call the office on (07) 3517 0157. After hours, use the emergency repair contacts we gave you at the start of your tenancy.

What counts as an emergency repair?

Things like a burst water service, a blocked or broken toilet, a serious roof leak, a gas leak, dangerous electrical faults, flooding or serious storm damage, or a failure of an essential service such as hot water.

How much notice do I get before an inspection?

For a routine inspection, at least seven days' written notice, and routine inspections happen no more than once every three months.

Can the rent go up during my lease?

Only if your agreement allows it. In Queensland, rent can go up no more than once every 12 months, with at least two months' written notice.

Can I have a pet?

You can ask. Put the request in writing; the owner must respond within 14 days and can only refuse on specific grounds set out in Queensland law.

How do I get my bond back?

At the end of the lease, after the exit inspection. When the property is returned in the condition it was let in, less fair wear and tear, the bond is refunded through the RTA.
